Big Boy Bed!

For Christmas, Ryan received a bed from my parents. We ordered it last Saturday, and to our surprise, it came three days later. This brings that phrase under promise and over deliver to a whole new level!

Time to say goodbye to the toddler bed...

Ryan had no idea he was receiving a big boy bed, so Justin wanted to surprise him and put it together.

*I wasn't allowed to take anymore pictures to show the process of the bed being built. I was kicked out.

We were not aware of the size of the bed in terms of the amount of space it would take up in Ryan's room. So, I decided to rearrange his room after we had the bed set up. Justin wasn't happy with my "measurements" of the room and how much "stuff" Ryan has. So, Ryan's room is not organized yet. My weekend plans consists of me doing it.

Ryan's bed, without the really cute sheets (back-ordered - bummer), and without the actual trundle part. To save space, Justin put the box spring under the bed. Soon, it will be replaced with a bed for Ryan's friends to sleep on. Well actually, it's for Justin or myself to sleep on it when Ryan has scary dreams. :)

When I was at my hair appointment, Justin added some "flair." A little over the top, but whatever. :)

Ryan's room was ready for his reaction:

There are three things that are funny in this video.
  1. Ryan's strike to speak properly. Typical toddler.
  2. His reaction from his bed to the rest of his room. It was like he thought everything in his room was new, blue car and all.
  3. Where he decided to put his water when he goes to bed (If you missed that, it was on the poles at the end of the bed).
Thank you Mom and Dad for the very generous gift to Ryan! We appreciate you so much!!

I'm gonna blame his sincere thank you as just being too excited for his new bed. :)

He is loving it!!!

How long did it take JB to make the bed? It is daylight when he begins, but...it looks kinda dark when Ryan sees it?
