Justin & I went to Cabo for a week, without Ryan.
Adults-only vaca...
Don't worry, since this is a G-rated blog, I've only selected appropriate pictures. I must tell you though, Mexico is anything but :)
We went with Jim & Kathy, Mark (Justin's Godfather & Jim's bestie) & his wife Carol joined, as did Paul & Lauri Sarff. Paul & Lauri go to Cabo for two weeks each year - they know everything about Cabo, all the places to eat, drink, and dance!
We spent our days either at the beach or the pool.
Buckets of beers quenched our thirst, while the men puffed away on cigars. The beach didn't fall short of skimpy bathing suits, booty-shakin' contests, drinking contests, and men/women strutting their stuff. Oh, and jello shots, tequila shots, and any other shot you desire - just ask the big man (located above, in the middle picture)
Our place had a pool, full of entertainment for families. It had a Orca whale as their slide - WAY FUN!
See, Mexico is family-friendly.
Justin & I decided to take a trip over to Lover's beach. You can only get there by water taxi and if you pay a little extra they'll take you on the scenic tour before dropping you off. That's what we did, and it was totally worth it.
After we got dropped off on the beach, we took a stroll over to Divorce beach. It's named that to scare people from going over there. It's the Pacific ocean side, which means deadly waves and no chance of survival even for the strongest swimmers.
The arch. You can only get to the arch from Divorce beach. Typically you can't get to the arch from anywhere other than the water taxi. So imagine our surprise when we were on our scenic tour people were actually walking through it.
We had to do it. We had to walk through the arch.
That meant we had to time the waves perfectly, as the lifeguard told us if were to get sucked out with the waves, he was not coming in after us. So pretty much this meant it was a life or death situation, and I wasn't exactly cheering for this adventure.
But...
after lots of standing around and making the executive decision of not going, we just RAN. And made it - barely.
We also went to a fiesta one night. It was great eating with the sound of the waves, the sand between our toes, and musical entertainment. It's a place you want to take your family and enjoy a night out. They even had a clown that made balloon animals for the kids...he even made me a crown...
While we were at the fiesta, I went on stage and played musical chairs with a ton of extremely excited women. For once, I was not the most excited one to be on stage. I held my own, however, and took third.
To return the favor, Justin competed in a drinking contest on the beach.
I'll let him tell you who won...
Well, that was Cabo. A lot of sun, sand, water, booze, dancing and food to keep you entertained for more than a week.
While we were gone, Ryan stayed with my parents. That's right, he had a whole week of being spoiled and bike rides.
Thanks Mom & Dad for taking such great care of him!
Thanks Jim & Kathy for inviting us to Cabo. It was a blast!
